Event Details

Aimed at:

This full day course is designed for anyone who has attend Level 1 Substance Misuse. It is important that all professionals working with children and young people (including those who work with young people on a one-to-one basis) are able to deliver effective drug and alcohol education. Delivering education and ensuring young people access further sources of support, are both key in terms of reducing demand for drugs and alcohol, and for ensuring young people are able to make healthy, informed choices. It would therefore be useful for everyone to attend, but it is particularly important  for those working with vulnerable children and young people.

Aims:

To enable participants to deliver effective drug and alcohol education within informal settings

Learning Outcome

  • To consider the importance of drugs and alcohol education and how you can contribute to this within your role
  • To research and experience a range of resources and exercises (suitable for children and young people) to support session planning
  • To practise designing, delivering and evaluating a drug and alcohol session for young people
