Delivering grief education - preparing for curriculum changes
Overview
This webinar aims to highlight the importance of grief education for all pupils and will empower staff to talk about loss, death and grief. We will explore the revised statutory guidance on RSE and health education including how to answer difficult questions and access resources to help embed these.
Who is this training for?
This webinar is suitable for educational professionals working in primary, secondary and college settings and anyone responsible for curriculum development.
What will I learn?
During this training, you will:
- Learn how to initiate conversations about death and grief.
- Explore free-to-access resources suitable for ages 4 to 18+.
- Prepare for emotional and behavioural responses to the topics of death and grief.
- Receive guidance for staff, pupils, parents and carers including those who have been bereaved and pupils with additional needs.
- Consider cultures and beliefs, staff wellbeing and how to deliver this content following a death in the school community.
- Receive information about Child Bereavement UK and the ongoing support we can offer as well as other support organisations, and resources available.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions during the webinar using the Q&A function.
