In this beautiful x4 day visual art camp we explore a multitude of materials for an art-FULLY exciting experience AND experiment with paint, inks, drawing, fine tip pens + sculpture + more.

DAY 1: Art Journaling: Riot of Mexican Colour + Siempre Frida Amour

Welcome to our boot camp, where each day is filled with exciting and unique journaling projects that will ignite your imagination and allow you to create stunning pages that are distressed and ready for some fabulous retro, illustrative artwork. We will be using high-quality hardback sketchbooks and paper to bring our favourite pieces to life!

Journaling is not only a fantastic way to kickstart this fun filled creative week but also a skill that will accompany you throughout the entire course and keep the children occupied for the rest of the Summer. Just like professional artists, we will delve into sketching, drawing, and art-making, allowing our creativity to flow freely.

And who better to draw inspiration from than the incredible artist, Frida Kahlo?

Each journal project will focus on illustration and design, teaching you how to transform your ideas into vibrant realities. This project is not just a summer fling; it will keep you inspired and motivated long after the season ends!

Day 2: Clay Day - Mexican Milagros Pottery

Get ready to unleash your creativity as we dive into a day dedicated to ceramics! Today, children will have the opportunity to create their very own "mini ceramic portrait sculpture pot”. Young artists will have the chance to design and sculpt in clay, bringing their ideas to life in the form of unique portrait sculpture pots.

That’s not all inspired by Mexican iconography, young creative will let their imaginations run wild as they design, draw, glaze, paint, and transform a fabulous, brightly coloured bisque mug into a ceramic masterpiece! The mos wonderful opportunity to let their artistic skills shine as they design and draw intricate patterns and motifs on their ceramic creations. With a wide array of vibrant glazes and paints at their disposal, they will transform their plain mugs into dazzling works of art, bursting with colour and personality.

DAY 3: Mixed Media Printmaking + Framed Favourite

Today, we have an absolutely fantastic activity planned for the children - a 'Jungle' inspired mixed media artwork that will transport them to a world of jungle chic, adorned with majestic leopards, vibrant toucans, and giant monstera leaves. And that's not all! We'll also be adding a touch of tropical flair with pineapples, exotic flowers and much more.

Throughout the day, we will dive into a whirlwind of artistic techniques, including drawing, sketching, printing, painting, sticking, and detailing. This Summer project is tailor-made for those young makers who thrive on creating bold and exhilarating artwork that is bursting with wonder and excitement.

Prepare to embark on an exploration of thrilling mix and mingle techniques that will result in a truly inspired mini framed artwork. Today is all about immersing ourselves in a creative process that will yield multiple captivating images.

DAY 4: Monstrous Canvas Art - ‘Jungle chic'

Get ready for an exhilarating adventure into the world of art! Our summer-inspired canvas painting is about to reach new heights of excitement as we unleash our creativity on a massive A3 canvas. Brace yourselves for a truly dramatic and colourful masterpiece that will leave you in awe.

Drawing inspiration from our week of fun-filled activities, we will embark on a journey to create a stunning, ready-to-hang artwork that will transport you straight into the heart of the jungle. With each brushstroke, we will build vibrant layers, incorporating jungle motifs, captivating imagery, and even some quirky animal illustrations. The result? A mesmerising canvas that will bring the wild wonders of nature right into your home.
