Event description

Description

The Demand and Capacity Team and ACT Academy are piloting a new training day for colleagues working in NHS provider organisations who wish to improve the quality of local demand and capacity planning.

Venue locations:

  • 18th October 2018: Leeds
  • 23rd October 2018: London
  • 30th October 2018: London

Building on experience and good practice, we know that effective demand and capacity planning is best undertaken as a team approach with clinical and operational staff working alongside informatics colleagues.

The day will start at 10.30am (registration from 10am) and finish by 4pm.

These training days will focus on the principles of demand, capacity and flow. They will equip participants with some core tools and tips about how to facilitate discussions to support effective demand and capacity planning. These tools are fundamental to running demand and capacity models.

Participants can expect to learn:

  • how waiting lists build
  • how to use process mapping approaches to understand and plan your processes for demand and capacity planning
  • how to interpret an SPC chart and demand and capacity model output (for elective care)
  • how to facilitate demand and capacity conversations in your organisation.

This will enable you to undertake some work in your organisation which is essential before you begin to apply demand and capacity models for your service.

Tea/coffee will be provided but lunch will not. Please feel free to bring your own lunch and use the opportunity to network during the lunch break in the training room.

Please note these training days are only available to colleagues from NHS provider organisations, so please register using your nhs.mail account to ensure a place.
