Dementia: A Whole Life Approach – Making Personal Budgets More Personal
Event Information
About this Event
This webinar will look at the learning from the Life Changes Trust’s Individual Awards Scheme and how this learning can be applied more broadly to the implementation of personal budgets for people with dementia and unpaid carers.
Adequate financial resources can mean the difference between living well with dementia or struggling to cope with living with dementia. Providing someone with a relatively small amount of money and the choice and control over how to spend it can have a big impact on them and their family.
At this event, you will hear about:
• the learning from an evaluation of the Individual Awards Scheme funded by the Trust. The scheme provided people living with dementia and unpaid carers with grants of up to £500 to spend on something that mattered to them or would make life better
• how unpaid carers have been using self-directed support during Covid-19.
You will also hear from a family in Orkney about how they have used self-directed support to improve their quality of life.
