Dementia: A Whole Life Approach - Minority Ethnic Communities & Dementia
Event Information
About this Event
Webinar sharing learning from the independent evaluation by Blake Stevenson of Dementia projects for Minority Ethnic Communities funded by the Life Changes Trust. The evaluation looks at the impact of this funding across communities while highlighting the personal experience of beneficiaries.
The purpose of this webinar is to examine the impact of funding provided by the Life Changes Trust to projects across Scotland which support people with dementia and the unpaid carers of people with dementia from different minority ethnic communities.
We will look at how the approach and work of each project has benefitted people with dementia and their unpaid carers from minority ethnic communities, and share the learning that has emerged through our independent evaluation.
In 2013, the Life Changes Trust received a spend-out endowment of £50 million from the National Lottery Community Fund. The Trust funds a broad range of work that aims to transform the lives of people living with dementia, unpaid carers of people with dementia and young people with care experience in Scotland. We are committed to putting people at the heart of everything that we do.
At this learning event, you will hear about:
• the key findings from the evaluation and recommendations to inform current and future policy and practice in relation to the delivery of services for people from minority ethnic communities living with dementia
• the experience of unpaid carers of people with dementia, as told directly by them
You also will have the chance to discuss what you have heard in small discussion groups and put questions to a Q&A panel.
The evaluation report, ’Evaluation of Dementia Projects for Minority Ethnic Communities’, produced by Blake Stevenson and commissioned by the Life Changes Trust will be available to delegates before the event, and will be published on our website after the event.
The webinar will be recorded and posted later on the Trust’s website and Facebook page.
