Event description

Description

The Western Bay Regional Partnership has recently benefitted from Welsh Government Dementia Action Plan Funding. One of the successful applications for the region is concerned with holding a Dementia conference to highlight both local and regional service provision and how Dementia care can be shaped moving forwards.

The Conference aims to bring together those living with dementia, family and carers with care professionals from within Western Bay, along with Local Authorities and Health Board leads.

As well as a full programme highlighting good practice, there will be workshops which will inform future services which in turn will influence where funding is directed. We aim for this to be a relaxed and informative day serving to shine a light on the excellent work being carried out across Western Bay in relation to Dementia care.

The attendance of those living with Dementia, relatives and carers is paramount to the success of the day. We are sure those attending from a professional capacity will also benefit greatly from the day; which will form a critical part of how the future of services and Dementia Care for those living with Dementia across Western Bay is delivered.

We hope to get a good representation from both the professional cohort and those living with Dementia across all localities.

For those attending in a professional capacity, registration is via Eventbrite. It will be on a first come first served basis.

Those living with Dementia (including relatives and carers) will be invited directly by local officers.

The conference will include guest speakers, informative workshops and the well renowned Memory Choir. The conference will take place in the Gower suite at the Liberty Stadium with additional use of the Morfa suite for lunch and refreshments (please outline any dietary requirements).
