Description

A one day course exampling the effective use of assistive technology to support people living independently as possible with dementia, and how this can enable independence and wellbeing. There will be real examples from care and support providers and the Housing LIN/telecare LIN research.

Objectives

This course will enable participants to:

  • Understand the ranges of aids, adaptions and assistive technology available to support those living with dementia

  • Practice in a way that helps to sustain occupancy for as long as possible

  • Assess, minimise and manage risks to safety and security

  • Work in a way which promotes autonomy and independence

This course will be useful for housing and neighbourhood officers, asset management staff, sheltered and support staff as well as staff responsible for aids and adaptations.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

We welcome you to attend the other courses in this series, however this is not obligatory.
