Dementia Beds Capital Investment - Teams Drop-in Session

There is an over-supply of general residential and nursing care home capacity, with demand for dementia residential and nursing placements exceeding the supply available across Cheshire West and Chester.

£2m capital investment has been secured to develop Specialist Residential Dementia and Dementia with Nursing offer as part of the Ageing Well portfolio.

The project will provide matched capital funding from £10k up to a maximum of £250k per scheme to enable Providers to build new or adapt existing capacity to enable them to meet demand or to provide retrospective funding for work completed in the last 18 months.

The conditions of the grant are as follows.

· Providers must commit to the Council’s contracted rates

· Minimum grant of £10k matched funding

· Maximum grant of £250k matched funding

· Funding must be utilised to create new beds and/or convert existing general residential beds

· 100% of funded beds will be ringfenced for Council use only

There will be a fair procurement process to allocate any grant monies, including detailed service specifications and contract regulations to safeguard both the investment and providers delivering the service.
