About this event

Dementia Conversations for carers of people living with dementia and anyone with an interest in dementia.

This free initiative provides an opportunity for people interested in dementia and related matters, including those living with dementia, their carers, and friends, to share experiences, gain knowledge, and explore issues of belief, attitude, and need. Recent online sessions have explored the unique challenges faced by different types of carers. The group has discussed the varying stresses experienced by spouse carers compared to younger family members like daughters and sons. Participants have also shared both encouraging stories and concerns about the decline in service standards over the past decade, emphasising the need for renewed advocacy and support.

We will be:

  • Listening
  • Learning
  • Sharing and developing themes identified thus far

Sessions are free and will be hosted online by Ian Stout, a retired old-age psychiatrist, and Barbara Stephens, CEO of Dementia Pathfinders.

Meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month at 7pm for an hour by Zoom.

Details including the Zoom link for the event will be sent nearer to the date.
