Event Details

Mansfield Central Library are delighted to be hosting a series of dementia friendly screenings of classic films and musicals.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothersopens in a new window - In 1850 Oregon, when a backwoodsman brings a wife home to his farm, his six brothers decide that they want to get married too.

The screenings are particularly suitable for people living with dementia and memory challenges, their family and friends but anyone is welcome. Please feel free to talk, sing and move during the screening.

Doors will open 20 minutes before the screening and their will be a 20 minute interval. We will be sensitive to the audience when it comes to lighting and volume in the auditorium. A quiet room for anyone needing a brief break from the film will be available just outside the auditorium and toilets including an accessible toilet are also just outside the auditorium door.

The auditorium is on the second floor of the building with good lift access but the seating is stepped as shown in the picture and there are 3 wheelchair user tickets available.

If you have any additional requirements or questions before booking please contact artsadmin@inspireculture.org.uk

Connecting Communities is a community cinema project providing mentoring, training, and support; to help volunteers in five North Nottingham and Mansfield venues deliver film screenings in their local communities.

The project is supported by Film Hub Central East as part of the BFI Film Audience Network, Broadway Cinema, and The Rebalancing the Outer Estates Foundation.
