Event description

Description

This workshop will explore a faith-based, relationship-centred, hope-filled response to the challenge of dementia. In the morning we will consider the theology and practical issues around later years and living with dementia. In the afternoon there is the opportunity to share experiences and hear from others.

This workshop is suitable for churches taking their first steps towards dementia-inclusion, and for churches who are keen to share their experience of becoming dementia inclusive with others.

The workshop will be led by Livability, the national charity that exists to support disabled people, including those living with dementia, to live a life that adds up for them. Working together and with the people we support, Livability tackles barriers that impact disabled people, to enable better wellbeing and participation for all.

Part of Livability's Community Engagement team, Charlotte Overton-Hart is a reminiscence facilitator and bibliotherapy practitioner, using words for wellbeing and connection with nature to support people who are living with dementia and their carers. Charlotte runs workshops and develops resources for churches to take the next steps to being dementia inclusive.
