Description

Dementia - the ABC of the Big D

This study day on dementia care for nurses and health care assistants will be hosted by the Leicestershire and Rutland branch of the Royal College of Nursing.

An estimated 850,000 people in the UK have dementia, with the number set to rise to more than one million by 2025.

The event will hear from prominent dementia awareness campaigner Tommy Whitelaw, whose story of caring for his late mother Joan continues to move and inspire audiences of health care professionals and family carers all over the UK.

A number of other speakers will present their experiences of developing practice in the care of people with dementia.

Attendance at the event will count towards the continuing professional development requirement of revalidation for registrants on the Nursing and Midwifery Council register.

Places at the event are limited so please make sure you are able to attend before booking a place.

Dietary requirements

The event will include a buffet lunch and refreshments. If you have any special dietary requirements, please confirm your name and specify your requirements by email to ian.thomas@leicspart.nhs.uk in addition to registering for the event by clicking on the green button above.
