Members of the public are invited to a free guided tour of the States Chamber, offering an exciting opportunity to explore the heart of Jersey’s democracy.

This informative behind-the-scenes tour will enable you to discover how our elected parliament works, the history that shaped it and how decisions are made that impact every day life in our Island.

With the 2026 elections fast approaching, this is the perfect time to learn more about Jersey’s electoral process. You might even get to see the Royal Mace!

The tour is an hour long, with the opportunity to ask questions throughout.

The tour will meet outside the States Members’ entrance of the States Assembly building in the Royal Square at 12:00pm.

Frequently asked questions

How accessible is the States Chamber?

The tour involves walking up and down 35 steps. There is a lift available for your comfort, if required. However, in the event of a fire, the lift would be unavailable; therefore, visitors need to be able to use the stairs to exit the building in an emergency. For info email: getinvolved@gov.je
