Event description

Description

What are the quality parameters to create a nice 360° film?

What are the main elements of impactful storytelling?

Come find out during an interactive evening with top scholars and teachers from the Lucerne School of Art & Design!

Its «Visual Narrative» research group explores narrative, staging and interpretation in linear and non-linear media (e.g. ultra short films, interactive smartphone apps, 360° film), investigates the use and reception of these media, and designs new communication strategies and formats in visual media.

With new technological advances in VR comes new possibilities in storytelling. How are we going to tell stories or share experiences in a medium that does not contain a frame anymore and gives the viewer the freedom to change his perspective?

Is this comparable to existing forms of media or is it something completely new? Such questions led to the creation of the Innosuisse research project «storytelling in 360°» in collaboration with the SRF.

The research group will present their research process, their challenges and the long journey to find insight to the question «what makes a 360°-film great?».
