Event description
Demystifying Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) - Free to attend Microsoft Teams Workshop for parents/carers & professionals.

About this Event

This is an informal workshop for parents/carers new to the journey of supporting their child with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). It is also suitable for professionals who are new to supporting children and young people with SEND.

Often parents do not know where to find the information they need to support their child or what to expect in terms of support. This session will explore how SEN is identified within primary and secondary settings and provide an understanding of reasonable adjustments that can be implemented to support children & young people with their education.

This short session aims to provide participants with a greater understanding of SEND and highlight pathways for supporting SEND children and their families.

These sessions are delivered in a varied virtual format – a mix of presentation and participation, with time for questions. If you require any special requirements to access this training, please contact us (SENDIASS@southtyneside.gov.uk).
