Demystifying the Sustainable Development Goals with Lord Hastings, Global H...
Tue 25 October 2016, 18:00 – 21:00 BST
Want to end child poverty? Improve education rates and maternal health? Produce economic growth? And see business, government and the social sector work together to better the lives of humanity?
If you haven't yet heard, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are on the case! To mark the first year of working under the framework we're delighted to host an expert, Baron Hastings of Scarisbrick CBE.
With 17 headings and 139 sub-targets we'll discuss the ins and outs of the world's largest to do list, what they mean, and how they can be made more digestible and participatory. What will the world look like in 2030 if we succeed? What does it mean to 'leave no-one behind'? And how should we understand the responsibilties of business - explicitely included in the SDG agreement for the first time.
Join us as we put these questions and more to Lord Hastings, KPMG's International Global Head of Corporate Citizenship and vocal activist for tackling global poverty.
