Denim Quilt Workshop

Ever wondered what to do with your old favourite jeans? Join me for a denim quilt workshop!.

You need never have sewn or quilted before! During this workshop we will re-purpose your old denims into the beginnings of a new quilt. You can follow a pattern or choose to freequilt, whichever you prefer. In the workshop you will learn how to measure and assemble fabric pieces and master how to merge colours, texture and pattern. Depending on your level and pace, you'll begin a quilt top for a cushion cover, lap or baby-sized quilt or you can use your work as the start of a bigger quilt to finish at home.

We will look at the types of wadding you can use for your quilt, and how to layer it up. Finally, we will touch on stitching methods including Japanese Sashiko stitching and Boro mending, and look at how to finish your quilt using hand-quilting methods, basting and binding.

My aim is simple - that you go away energised and enthused to use your new-found knowledge in a creative way! Unleash the inner creative in you or pick up your sewing needle again.

Light lunch will be provided.

This will be a small class so booking early is recommended.

Can I buy a ticket as a gift?

Yes, the tickets are transferable so are the perfect gift for a friend.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is a public car park immediately opposite the venue. Holywood is also served by train (Translink train Belfast/Bangor line) and buses.

What can I bring into the event?

Upon confirmation of your booking you will receive a full email with all the details about the day and what to bring along. Feel free to bring an open mind and sense of humour!
