Description

As a specialist in Periodontology, I acknowledge the importance of the role of the dental hygienist. Your role is fundamental in modern dentistry and so I want to help you stay on top of your game!

We run non-profit training evenings to a small number of hygienists who are interested in sharpening their skillset and expanding their knowledge.

How often?

Run every 6 weeks, the sessions will cover numerous aspects of periodontology including dental implantology and reviewing the latest evidence to treat the disease. We will also be allocating time for your development plans in-line with the new GDC CPD guidelines.

Fee'sEach session is £38

The fees are kept as low as possible - just to cover room hire and food. "

All evenings are verified UK CPD hours as per the GDC guidelines.

Wednesday 13th Dec '17 Implant maintenance ******* BOOK NOW FOR THIS EVENT!*******

Implants are increasingly becoming an everyday part of a hygienist and therapists work. Whether you work in a practice that place implants or ‘inherit’ patients from elsewhere, this evening will discuss the skills needed to confidently care for implants and the surrounding tissues and put in place the protocols needed for peri-implant assessment and maintenance.

Wednesday 24th January '18 How to spot early signs of peri-implantitis.

How to spot whether an implant with a restoration is doing its job and is clinically viable? What are the clinical features? We will discuss in detail on how hygienists can evaluate the success of an implant in their patient’s mouth and make a clinical judgment to refer back to the dentist or specialist. In addition, Ope will describe what are the most common reasons that implants fail.

Wednesday 7th March '18 Development plan session

These sessions will be designed and developed to help plug the gaps in your development plans - Ope will provide the training and support on perio and implant subjects.

Wednesday 18th April'18 stunning smiles through perio plastic surgery

This session covers the methods we use and benefits of perio plastic surgery. We discuss how to explain to patients the process and the outcome plus provide them sound advice and perhaps help solve their aesthetic problems. Our open discussion will include the techniques we use and patient stories, before and after cases, which have really improve patient’s smiles
