About this event
Deputy Director Induction
Welcome to the Senior Civil Service and congratulations on your new role.
We know that when individuals are promoted or recruited into the Senior Civil Service (SCS) they really appreciate the opportunity to develop a network quickly and benefit from having a safe space in which to explore what is expected of them as leaders.
The SCS Inductions team is running the Deputy Director Induction (DDI) which will enable you to begin thinking about the knowledge, skills and networks needed to thrive in your new role. We are creating a space for you to meet with peers, build your networks, draw from the experience of others in a senior role and begin to build your understanding of being a SCS.
The DDIs are held regionally and ideally we would encourage you to book onto an induction within your region, however this isn't always possible and if you are happy to travel, you are welcome to book onto an induction in a different region.

Next Steps
After you have signed up via this Eventbrite page using your government email address, you will receive the following -
Calendar invitations to both the regional induction day and the DDI Connect event.
Over the coming months, you will also receive invites to a schedule of SCS Induction Masterclasses. We provide a rolling series of online masterclasses for our participants, covering a range of topics and run by SCS leaders across government via MS Teams. We encourage you to attend as many as you are able to. We take a register at our masterclasses, so that if anyone is unable to attend, we make sure they’re invited to the next one. Our masterclass schedule is repeated three times a year.
At least two weeks before your regional induction day, we will email you a ‘Golden Document.’ This contains everything you need to know about your induction, including agendas, FAQs, booking forms for the DDI Connect Event, location information and details on how to register for the online learning on Future Learn.
Please note that accommodation is not provided. If you require accommodation for the regional induction or for the DDI Connect event, you will need to book using your departmental booking system.
To ensure you have the most valuable experience we only accept a maximum of 2 participants from any one department on each event. If the number of participants from your department booked onto this event exceeds this number, then an error message will appear and you will need to book a different event. Thank you for your understanding.
We look forward to working with you soon.
Please email scsinductions@cabinetoffice.gov.uk if you have any questions.
