Derek Nash

An award-winning saxophonist, Derek Nash is perhaps best known as one of the featured saxophonists with the Jools Holland Band, leader of the enormously successful Sax Appeal and co-leader of the funk/groove outfit Protect the Beat. An experienced musician of many years standing his muscular, fluent, modern jazz playing has been recognised with numerous awards, including “Best Jazz Ensemble” and “Best Jazz CD” as well as being voted one of the top 5 saxophonists in the country. Derek's recent recording with his Acoustic Quartet, You’ve Got to Dig it to Dig it, you Dig? Derek has also performed with influential jazz artists Dave and Don Grusin, Nelson Rangell, Ernie Watts, Russell Ferrante, Brian Culbertson and David Benoit. What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There is on-street parking in the roads round the pub.
Colindale underground station (Northern Line) is a short walk away.

Can I pay on the night?
Yes, for those who haven't pre-booked there is a collection at the interval (although you won't be entitled to the discount on meals). We do expect you to contribute the normal admission fee unless you qualify for a concessionary rate…

Are there any concessions?
Students and unwaged can turn up on the night and pay whatever you like (or even nothing). We want you to be able to enjoy the music, and maybe you'll come back and pay the full admission in better times…

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Don't hesitate to call Rick at Just East of Jazz on 020 8361 0265 for questions about the gig.
For queries about the pub — food, drink, access and so on, call the pub on 020 8200 0032.

Just East of Jazz

Just East of Jazz is the record label and management partnership for the band Just East, the band that used to be called Just East of Jazz. Glad we got that cleared up.

Lately we've been promoting regular jazz & food nights at a great new pub venue in North London…check out the venue website:
