Derwen College Parent Carer Open Day will take place on Thursday 5th February at the main site in Gobowen, near Oswestry in Shropshire.
Who is it for?
• Parent carers who may be seeking admission to Derwen College in the 2026 or 2027 academic year.
• The prospective student is welcome to attend, but does not need to. Dedicated days are set aside for prospective students to visit.
• Anybody who has expressed interest in joining the college as a day or residential student.
• Parent carers wishing to know more about what Derwen College has to offer as a post school option.
What will happen?
Arrive anytime from 10.00am onwards. Please be mindful that the last opportunity to join a site tour will be at 2.00pm.
Your visiting group will be allocated to a site tour. You will have the opportunity to meet staff and students, visit our Pathways and see student facilities.
Please note that the site is large and the tour will involve a considerable amount of walking.
Please allow up to two hours for your visit.
We look forward to welcoming you on to Campus and showing you some of the amazing work that goes on and the facilities we have to offer.
Please note, there will not be an opportunity to visit our residences and / or day provision. This will be made available to you to see on a future visit as part of our Admissions Journey.
Arriving earlier or staying later?
Make the most of your visit by taking a look around Derwen's commercial outlets in our Marketplace. More importantly, you can see first-hand Derwen College students in training, as each of the outlets is linked to our curriculum Pathways. Perhaps have lunch, or refreshments in Derwen's Orangery Restaurant or Walled Garden Café.
