The exhibition showcases 30 years of creativity, innovation, and change. Discover 6 inspiring Czech companies, iconic products, and fresh perspectives on how design shapes our lives—from timeless objects to virtual experiences. Short films and behind-the-scenes stories bring it all to life.
Design and Transformation: Stories of Czech Design 1990–2020 reveals how Czech design has evolved over the last three decades—from iconic material objects to new virtual and strategic forms. This exhibition highlights 6 remarkable companies and projects that show how collaboration with leading Czech and international designers has shaped everything from timeless glassware to innovative technologies. Visitors will discover the rich stories behind these brands, explore the shifting role of design amid social change, and see how today’s designers tackle technological, environmental, and ethical challenges. Short films created by a team of filmmakers and students bring these stories to life with a fresh perspective on what Czech design means today.
The exhibition is complemented by an outdoor photography display by Vojtěch Veškrna, installed in the public space outside the Czech Embassy.
