York is home of the world's most famous chocolate bar: Kit Kat. With so many chocolates created in York, there's lots of love for chocolate here. Come and learn how to make your own, just how you like it!

What's your favourite chocolate bar? Have you something special in mind that you can just never find, or an unusual preference that you have just never seen? Join us to learn how to create your own chocolate bar, all to your own taste and preference.

We'll teach you how to temper our chocolate, then you'll be able to experiment with different flavours to create your own chocolate bar. We'll then leave them to set before packaging them for you to come back and collect.

The price of this workshop is £17.50 per person.

We very much welcome children to take part in this workshop, however we do ask that they are accompanied by a supervising adult.

Chocolate Making


Group Bookings:

Group Chocolate Taster workshops are available for any sized group and are perfect for school groups, Brownie and Girl Guide groups, corporate rewards and entertaining, we can join you at your venue or place of work or you can join us at one of our partner venues. We regularly cater for groups of 200+ so no event is too big!

Special Dietary Information:

We demonstrate our chocolate making processes with our own 40% Milk Chocolate Recipe crafted by our Chocolate Making team at York Cocoa Works. Because of the nature of the open workshops it is not possible to remove all possible allergens from the vacinity, but we are usually able to cater for dairy free, wheat free and sugar free diets within this workshop. We must advise that though this workshop does not work with nuts, traces might be in the vicinity, in most cases we are able to cater for nut allergies. If you or your party have a special dietary requirement please contact us on 01904 656731 prior to booking so we can discuss how we can best cater for your needs.
