THE AFRICA CENTRE PARTNERS WITH LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL - SEPT. 16-23, 2017

As a partner of London Design Festival 2017, The Africa Centre will host a series of creative workshops, film screenings and Afrobeat DJ nights at its new home in Southwark.

During one week, from Saturday 16th to Saturday 24th of September 2017, the Africa Centre will celebrate the best of the outstanding creative talent of black artists and designers.

It is the first time the Africa Centre is involved in London Design Festival and this inaugural collaboration will honour new talents as well as the longstanding heritage of the Centre in promoting the creative work of the African Diaspora.

The installation 'A Chair Doesn't Make A King' by Yinka Ilori will be part of exclusive week of Art and Culture @TheAfricaCentre, with workshops and industry talks hosted by incredible entrepreneurs, artists and designers in the likes of Chrissa Amuah, Head of the handmade textiles and print studio AMWA Designs; Julie Kouamo, Textile Designer and founder of the travelinspired brand for home interiors 'Kouamo'; and Ranti Bam whose collage inspired ceramics have been featured in The Financial Times.

Spread the word and see you at the Africa Centre during London Design Festival.
