Design Network North: Christmas Social
Thu 15 December 2016, 19:00 – 23:00 GMT
With a vast number of breweries and distilleries emerging throughout the North East, we've invited some of the best known northern brands along to our Christmas Social.
Each brewery will have a stand where you can sample their lovingly crafted beers and gins, whilst enjoying live music, street food and lots of networking.
Tickets for the event are £10* per person (£7* for Design Network North members). We'll provide the food and the music, and the drinks are up to you.

Beers will be available from:
Multi-award winning North East based craft brewery with taste and heart. Sonnet 43 Brew House was inspired by the Victorian poet Elizabeth Barret Browning. The Raven and Impressment are just some of the beers available from Sonnet 43.
Almasty (meaning “The Wild One”; a name used to describe Siberian or Eastern European mystical creatures) is an exciting brewery emerging onto the North East’s already healthy looking brewing scene. Their beers can be found in a selection of northern inns and taverns.
An award-winning, independent small batch distillery based on the North East coast. Using their 500 litre still, Gracie, Poetic License stick to the traditional method of gin making, where all botanicals are macerated in the pot and then boiled. You can find their gins and vodkas in some of the finest bars and restaurants in the North East, including the Botanist, Wynyard Hall, As You Like It and in their own self-titled bar on the seafront.
Durham Distillery is a small-batch craft distillery based on the outskirts of historic and beautiful Durham City. They create spirits of genuine integrity, handcrafted by Jess, their head distiller, using traditional methods, at the heart of which is their 400 litre, copper pot still, Lily. They use the highest quality ingredients and have a true passion for their work. Each small batch produces a few hundred bottles at a time, which are bottled and labeled by hand to make sure that it is of the best quality when it gets to you, the drinker.
The Fat Hippo specialise in the good kind of gluttony: making indulgent burgers that leave your fingers messy and your belly full. From a small restaurant, Fat Hippo has grown into a family of restaurants and a talented team with a borderline unhealthy obsession with burgers. With gourmet toppings and quirky combinations, their burgers are anything but basic. This is good old fashioned, roll-up-your-sleeves-and-get-it-all-over-you-face-food.
Live music provided by:
Paul's modern take on the 'one man band' using live loops, guitar percussion, harmonies and effects has seen him supportartists such as Turin Brakes, Jon Gomm and Billy Bragg. A diverse and challenging writer with a unique voice, his live performances range from whispering intensity to a white knuckle, edge of your seat, ear splittingly glorious racket.
The Christmas Social will be a relaxed networking evening. There will be live music, food and plenty of time for networking. To find out more, get in touch
