Welcome to Tall Tales Storytelling, India’s most loved creative writing series coming to you in London. We’re thrilled to invite you to a brand-new workshop designed to help you shape characters that leap off the page and stay with your readers long after the story ends.
What makes a character stick with us long after the story ends? Is it their quirks, their contradictions, the choices they make—or the ones they can’t? In this fun and hands-on workshop, we’ll dive into the art of creating characters who feel as real as the people you know (and sometimes, the people you’d rather not).
Through short, playful exercises, lively discussion, and examples from stories you love, you’ll learn how to:
- Bring your characters to life with voice, detail, and texture
- The psychology of character—how to uncover their hidden wants, fears, and contradictions
- How to use dialogue, action, and setting to reveal character instead of just describing them
- Techniques for building relationships and conflicts that keep readers turning pages
- Ways to balance quirks, flaws, and depth so your characters feel authentic and alive
This session is designed for writers of all levels. Whether you’re starting your very first short story, revising a novel draft, or experimenting with new voices, you’ll leave with fresh insights, concrete techniques, and sparks of inspiration to apply to your own work.
Join us on 9th October 2025 at 6pm BST (10.30pm IST) for a two hour workshop on desigining characters.
