Designated Safeguarding Lead Training - 2 days (Education)
This training is attended by New DSLs, Deputy DSLs, leaders and other safeguarding personnel within educational settings. All sessions are offered on a live virtual platform with a safeguarding trainer.
- Be able to identify child abuse and neglect including both risks at home and also outside the home including online.
- Have an overview of diversity and child protection
- Have an overview of stress and risk factors
- Explore the links between safety and emotional health leading to trauma informed practice.
- Understand the role and main responsibilities of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) within a multi-agency context
- Understand the safeguarding thresholds and how to respond to concerns
- Put the DSL role in the context of Newham Statutory services and National legislation and guidance
The two days will start and finish at 9.30 -3.30
The workshops are available on the following days and both sessions must be attended:
Wednesday and Thursday 8th and 9th October 25
Tuesday and Wednesday 3rd and 4th February 26
Wednesday and Thursday 13th and 14th May 26
