Designated Safeguarding Leads training Spring Term - 2 Day Training

Overview

This course will enable participants to become familiar with the role and responsibilities of the designated lead for safeguarding children.

Please Note, this is a two part training and BOTH training sessions must be attended:

Wednesday 11 March 2026; 6pm - 9pm

AND

Wednesday 18 March 2026; 6pm - 9pm

This course will enable participants to become familiar with the role and responsibilities of the designated lead for safeguarding children and young people and develop competence and confidence in carrying out this role.

NB: Designated Safeguarding Leads must complete this course every two years

To ensure that you meet the statutory requirements of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2020 and Working Together to Safeguard Children

To fully understand the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead and to gain knowledge on how to fulfil this role effectively in an Early Years Foundation Stage Setting

To identify key aspects of good practice within your settings using research and lessons learnt from serious case reviews

Please note:

This course will enable participants to become familiar with the role and responsibilities of the designated lead for safeguarding children within an early years registered provision.

This training is specifically for Designated Safeguarding Leads working in registered early years settings in the borough of Oldham - other staff members will be removed and should refer to the Oldham Safeguarding Children Partnership

Designated Safeguarding Leads must also attend the Safeguarding Learning Network twice per year during the autumn and spring term
