About this Event

The canals and ponds, cascades and fountains of the 17th century, and their polar opposites: the ornamental lakes of the 18th century: Charting the development of ornamental water in England, these landscapes are seen through the eyes of two men a century part: Sir John Kyrle Ernle in Wiltshire and Evelyn Pierrepont, Duke of Kingston, in Nottinghamshire

Dr Wendy Bishop, took a degree in garden design at Sparsholt, an MA in garden history with Prof. Tim Mowl at Bristol, and a PhD on ornamental lakes at UEA with Prof. Tom Williamson. She is now an independent landscape historian.
