Event description
Victorian technological advances, the English Italianate revival, and Europe’s alternative response. Sally Miller MA

About this Event

Victorian technological advances, the English Italianate revival, and Europe’s alternative response: From the mid 19th. century new - and rediscovered - technology in hydraulics and materials married confident Victorian taste in impressive & ornate water features. Victorian 'bling' gave way to a quiet revival of the Italianate style in England. But in Europe things took a different path!

Sally Miller MA, a garden historian, a Trustee of Hampshire Gardens Trust and leader of the Trust’s Research Group, having filled similar roles with the London Parks and Gardens Trust. Sally has been published in academic journals and has written two books on London parks
