About this Event

Join Simon Browning, Senior Data & Evidence Officer at Westcountry Rivers Trust, to learn more about planning and designing a water quality monitoring programme including:

  • Setting your monitoring objectives
  • Choosing an appropriate monitoring strategy
  • Choosing appropriate monitoring equipment
  • How you might use and visualise your data to help answer your questions

Simon has a wealth of experience with catchment scale environmental monitoring instrumentation. He has worked in a variety of roles including the development of novel monitoring tools and installation of real-time monitoring systems. Simon leads the water quality monitoring activities at Westcountry Rivers Trust and has developed the Westcountry CSI volunteer monitoring scheme.

Introduction to planning and designing a water quality monitoring programme (Presentation)

Water Quality Top Trumps (Interactive Session): Working together design a water quality monitoring strategy based on a real world situation. Which equipment and approaches will you choose and why? We’ll discuss the various choices and which approaches might be appropriate for different situations
