Description

Posters are an effective means of presenting research at all stages of development. This session aims to help participants develop skills to present their research at a conference, through the medium of an effective and professional poster presentation. Two short sessions are intended to introduce the basics, and there will be an opportunity to receive feedback on prepared posters. Attendance at both sessions is recommended.

Session One: The following aspects will be covered:

  • What is an effective poster?
  • Examples of good and bad posters
  • Specific guidelines for designing a good poster
  • Homework: prepare a poster using Powerpoint

Session Two: All participants will present their posters to the group and receive feedback. The following aspects will be covered:

  • Presentation of participants’ posters with feedback
  • First feedback on the participants own posters

Attendance at both sessions is essential.
