Event description

Description

Presenter: Dr Aimee Blackledge, LDC Development Team

This workshop will explore how to design a development workshop based on David Kolb’s Experiential Learning Cycle. It is a recommended that you first attend ‘Designing & Facilitating Experiential Learning Exercises’. Together we will explore how to design workshop activities that support reflective observation, abstract conceptualisation and active experimentation. You will consider the entire narrative of a workshop, including the overall and individual learning outcomes, experiential learning exercises, reflection, and evaluation. We will also explore the wider national context, such as the Researcher Development Framework. During the workshop, you will outline and share your workshop plans and receive feedback on ways to go forward in the Facilitation Scheme.

You are strongly recommended to attend the webinar, ‘Introduction to Facilitation in the Research Environment’ prior to your attendance at this workshop. This workshop is open to all and also contributes to the programme of workshops available for those applying for the Development Tutor Scheme.

This workshop offers opportunities to gain skills outlined in the RDF subdomains B3, D1, D2 and D3.

Registration: You are recommended to use your university of Liverpool email to register on Eventbrite and then the calendar invitation will be added to your University calendar. We reserve the right to remove attendees who do not appear to be members of this University.
