About this event

  • Event lasts 6 hours

Join us for a day of discovery using creative methods as such psychogeography, photography and journaling to explore how we experience the city.

In this day long workshop we begin by meeting at Lens Lab Projects where we will create our own artist book which will become our documentation diary for the rest of the day.

During the workshop we will develop our own documentation diaries, using bookbinding techniques, then use these diaries to document a predetermined journey through the city, and then rejoin at the Lens Lab Project studio, to discuss our findings.

Prompts will be given throughout each journey, occurring at specific intervals, inviting us to reflect on our journey and surroundings. We will use provided instant print cameras alongside note taking to record these journeys in the documentation diaries.

The workshop will run from 11am-5pm

A light lunch will be provided as part of the workshop - please let us know if you have any dietary requirements. Coffee and tea, and refreshments will be available whilst at Lens Lab.

Places are limited to eight participants so please ensure you are available for the full duration.

Over the course of the workshop we will be walking about 2-4 miles. Please ensure you have appropriate dress and footwear. Whilst every effort has been made to make this workshop as accessible as possible, the studio is not located on the ground floor and there is no lift access. We apologise for any constraint on participation this may create.

This workshop is made possible by support from the Network for Time and the University of Leeds.
