Event description

Description

A walk through Lea Marshes with poems and living history of resistance to enclosure from waterworks, railways, Olympic encroachments and commercial pressures. We will follow our own desire path and experience the differences between wild open space and managed parkland,

The route goes through the Essex Filter Beds, over to the 'Mini Holland' cycle paths, through a secret gate to a shocking discovery, onto Leyton Marsh, past the Lea Valley Riding Centre to Black Path, Porters Field, Lammas Meadow looking up to Walthamstow Marshes looping back by the site of Olympic baseball ring, and along the canalside, ending at the Princess of Wales for refreshment.
