Our first panel of speakers at this event will be talking about researching desistance and recovery, featuring Professor Shadd Maruna (Uuiversity of Manchester), Professor David Best (Sheffield Hallam University) discussing state of research and methodological innovations around desistance, Dana Segev (University of Sheffield) speaking about researching desistance in England and Israel, Dr. Sam King (University of Leicester speaking about desistance and Dr. Charlotte Colman (Ghent University) to talk about desistance and recovery combined.
The second panel of speakers which will be focussed around the societal and policy impact will consist of Lauren Hall (SHU) to speak about jobs, friends and houses, Dr. Michelle Newberry (SHU) discussing key changes based on our new studentships, Dr. Beth Weaver(University of Strathclyde) talking about Probation innovation and practice and Dougie Dunsmore-Dawson (Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisonors Trust) discussing the impact of RAPt and the challenges and needs of future prison rehab evolving over the years come to.
Our third panel will focus on Europe and beyond and will feature Professor David Best (SHU), Dr. Jamie Irving (SHU) speaking about ERANID and the REC-PATH project. Also this session will include a roundtable discussion on international perspectives and where desistance and recovery reasearch influence policy.
