This webinar will demonstrate how partnership work across 3 local authority areas has significantly impacted early childhood music practice and provision in the local area and across the country.

In 2015 the head of the Tri-borough Music Hub was determined to develop early childhood music across the 3 local authorities that the hub serves: the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham; the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea; and City of Westminster. Despite early years not being part of the National Plan for Music Education and therefore not receiving funding from government, a consortium of partners consisting of LA early education services; arts and music organisations and led by the Music Hub came together to form the Tri-borough Early Years Music Consortium (TBEYMC). With funding from Youth Music the TBEYMC has delivered the Tri-Music Together workforce development project aimed at EY educators, musicians and senior leaders.

Since 2016 the project has delivered a wide range of CPD opportunities involving a range of models of delivery as well as producing legacy guidance material such as Musical Development Matters in the Early Years and the Tri-Music Together self-evaluation tool.

The webinar and action learning sessions will:

* Discuss how the Music Hub and Early Education and Childcare Service have worked in partnership and how the TBEYMC was formed

* Explain the landscape of early years music education across England

* Share strategies to support Early Education services to develop the music provision in their LA areas

* Explore the important role of music in early childhood language and communication development
