Event description
Developing ethical citizenship in primary and secondary education/ Datblygu dinasyddiaeth foesegol mewn addysg gynradd ac uwchradd

About this Event

Curriculum for Wales 2022 outlines four purposes: to generate ambitious, capable learners; enterprising, creative contributors; healthy, confident individuals and ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world.

In order to achieve these purposes, teachers now need to consider how to integrate them into teaching and learning across all AOLs.

This course will explore ways to develop ethical and informed citizens through bringing together teachers and practitioners in global citizenship from the third sector.

During the training you will be introduced to the concept of global citizenship; trial and evaluate global citizenship tools and share ideas for topics incorporating ethical citizenship through a local and global lens across the curriculum. You will also explore successful case studies of active global citizenship from both primary and secondary schools. You will have the opportunity to network with other primary and secondary school teachers who are developing or want to develop project or topic resources for the Curriculum for Wales 2022 linking their local area to global contexts.

This course is aimed at teachers working with either primary or secondary students who are interested in developing their students’ abilities to:

1. Understand social justice and the need for a just and sustainable world;

2. Make connections between local and global contexts through thinking critically;

3. Engage with the wider community and develop active citizenship skills including planning, collaboration and management skills.

We very much hope you’re able to attend. There is no charge for this course and we will also be providing lunch for delegates.

Mae Cwricwlwm i Gymru 2022 yn amlinellu pedwar diben: creu dysgwyr uchelgeisiol, galluog; cyfranwyr mentrus, creadigol; unigolion iach, hyderus a dinasyddion egwyddorol, hyddysg yng Nghymru a'r byd. Er mwyn cyflawni'r dibenion hyn, mae angen i athrawon nawr ystyried sut i'w hintegreiddio i mewn i addysgu a dysgu ar draws pob maes dysgu.

Bydd y cwrs hwn yn archwilio ffyrdd o ddatblygu dinasyddion egwyddorol a gwybodus drwy ddwyn ynghyd athrawon ac ymarferwyr mewn dinasyddiaeth fyd-eang o'r trydydd sector.

Yn ystod yr hyfforddiant byddwch yn cael eich cyflwyno i gysyniad dinasyddiaeth fyd-eang; treialu a gwerthuso offer dinasyddiaeth fyd-eang, a rhannu syniadau ar gyfer pynciau sy'n ymgorffori dinasyddiaeth foesegol drwy lens leol a byd-eang ar draws y cwricwlwm.

Byddwch hefyd yn archwilio astudiaethau achos llwyddiannus o ddinasyddiaeth fyd-eang weithredol o ysgolion cynradd ac uwchradd.

Byddwch yn cael y cyfle i rwydweithio gydag athrawon ysgolion cynradd ac uwchradd eraill sy'n datblygu neu sydd eisiau datblygu adnoddau prosiect neu bwnc ar gyfer y cwricwlwm i Gymru 2022 gan gysylltu eu hardal leol â chyd-destunau byd-eang.

Anelir y cwrs hwn at athrawon sy'n gweithio gyda naill ai myfyrwyr cynradd neu uwchradd sydd â diddordeb mewn datblygu galluoedd eu myfyrwyr i:

1. deall cyfiawnder cymdeithasol a'r angen am fyd cyfiawn a chynaliadwy;

2. gwneud cysylltiadau rhwng cyd-destunau lleol a byd-eang trwy feddwl yn feirniadol;

3. ymgysylltu â'r gymuned ehangach a datblygu sgiliau dinasyddiaeth weithgar gan gynnwys sgiliau cynllunio, cydweithio a rheoli.

Rydym yn gobeithio'n fawr y byddwch yn gallu bod yn bresennol. Ni chodir tâl am y cwrs hwn a byddwn hefyd yn darparu cinio ar gyfer y cynadleddwyr.
