About this event

    Paediatric critical care education teams across the South Thames Paediatric Network (STPN)have come together to develop the Paediatric Acute Nursing in Critical Care levels 1 and 2 module (PANiCC), accredited by the Paediatric Critical Care Society (PCCS).

    This is an exciting opportunity for experienced paediatric nurses to develop their skills when caring for children who require paediatric critical care and pre and post-operative care.

    Who is this module intended for?

    • Experienced paediatric nurses more than 1 year qualified

    • Working in clinical settings caring for critically unwell children

    Please note minimum of 80% attendance is required to complete the module

    Course description

    This module aims to empower and equip you with enhanced knowledge and skill acquisition to navigate the complex environment and provide high quality, evidence-based nursing care to BCYP's and their families requiring level 1 and 2 critical care.

    This module will run over 6 months and will consist of 5 blocks. To ensure our learners feel confident in the delivery of level 1 and 2 critical care we will use a blended approach of:

    • Live and pre-recorded webinars

    • Group work, skills and simulation

    • Online activities

    • Self-study

    • Assessment Portfolio consisting of case based discussions and presentation

    Once enrolled request study leave on the following dates to attend the online webinars/face-to-face sessions. Note: Study leave decisions remain at the discretion of your employer.

    Key: (v) = virtual teaching on zoom | (f2f) = face-to-face training session

    *Virtual days 9-3, face to face 9-5

    Block 1:

    Teaching days: 07.10.25(f2f) and 21.10.25 (v)

    Block 2:

    Teaching days: 04.11.25(v) and 18 or 19.11.25(f2f)

    Block 3:

    Teaching days: 02.12.25 (v) and 06.01.26 (v)

    Block 4:

    Teaching days: 20.01.26(v) and 03.02.26 (v)

    Surgical skills day 17.02.26 or 18.03.26 (f2f)

    Block 5:

    Teaching days: 03.03.26 (v) and 17.03.26 (v)

    Presentation dates:

    14.04.2026 (v) or 15.04.26(v)

    • £1000.00 - for those inside the South Thames Paediatric Network
    • £1200.00 - for those outside the South Thames Paediatric Network
