Event description

Description

This event will be an opportunity to shape the Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) research volunteer programme at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. It is open to all those who have been actively involved in research as a member of a PPI group, or as a participant in a clinical trial.

Last year, over 5000 people took part in clinical trials through Salford Royal, but there are many other ways that people get involved in volunteering in research. This might be working with research teams to develop the initial idea, being an advisor on a research committee, attending events to talk about research, or perhaps being a patient advocate and telling other patients what it's like to take part. These various roles contribute to making sure that research benefits both the health of individuals and the population for years to come.

Within the Research and Development Dept., at Salford Royal, we would like to further develop the range of PPI activities that we undertake and as part of this process, we will be updating our research volunteer programme.

This initial event will be an opportunity to share our plans and work towards developing a comprehensive research volunteer structure, to get more people involved in a range of research activities.

You will be able to claim travel expenses for attending (maximum of £10/person). If you would like to claim, please keep relevant receipts
