Developing policies

Let’s face it, most of us probably don’t want to spend too much time thinking about policies. They’re something we know we need to have in place but don’t want to spend too much time on. However, if you’re someone who does need to think about policies – maybe your job involves reviewing policies or drafting new ones – then you need to know more and so this brief session is for you.

We’ll look at:

· What are policies and why do we need them?

· How do we go about writing and developing policies?

· Which policies do we need to have in place?

All sessions will be delivered by Sue Tucker, Operations and Development Manager, Stronger Kent Communities. Sue has worked in the voluntary sector for over 30 years. She joined the then CVS for the Canterbury district in 2008 and since then has specialised in providing support to the sector through both volunteer centre and organisational development services.

About Stronger Kent Communities

Stronger Kent Communities (SKC) began as a consortium of organisations, including CVS and Volunteer Centres across Kent, and has evolved into a community interest company to support not-for-profit organisations across Kent in building strong foundations, running smoothly and making connections.

We are here to help community groups, charities and social enterprises find the help they need. We want to work with you to provide the resources you need to build your organisation and run it effectively.

We work exclusively with non-profit groups in Kent, UK.
