As a healthcare professional, regardless if you are in a clinical or non-clinical role, you are probably frequently encountering situations at work that are physically and emotionally demanding. You have mastered the art of anticipating and attending to the physical and emotional needs of others. But do you know how to take care of yourself and each other?
While there is no doubt that nursing is a wonderful career with many challenges and intensely rewarding experiences, it is also a fact that in your daily work you confront emotional and professional demands that are unimaginable to the wider community. Let’s face it: spending your working life taking responsibility for the quality of people’s lives and their deaths is a heavy burden, even for the broadest of shoulders.
As a result of this workshop you will:
- Explore key evidence based theories in enhancing personal resilience
- Learn and practice specific tools and strategies which you can start using immediately when feeling stressed or overwhelmed with demands inherent in healthcare profession
- Get a sense of perspective and opportunity to reflect on how you could better respond to change, complexity and uncertainty
- Discover your inner resilience resources that can make you flourish at work and avoid burn out
The workshop content was put together by an NHS Trainer and a psychotherapist and it will include evidence based theories from positive psychology, mindfulness and CBT. We guarantee high quality time for self-reflection, professional support and interesting activities.
