This half day masterclass will introduce the benefits of leadership training for your aspiring and current team leaders. Frequently individuals are promoted into leadership positions based on their technical and operational abilities, without the core skills of knowing how to lead a team successfully. This may lead to a lack of confidence in dealing with difficult issues like under performance, leading people through organisational change and coping with budget restrictions and related pressures.

This session will explore the impact of different leadership styles and behaviours on employee performance, and build leadership capabilities in order to motivate and engage teams. This will result in effective and confident first line managers equipped with the tools to develop their own skills and abilities and build better team relationships.

By the end of this masterclass, delegates will be equipped to:

- Appreciate the core skills required to lead a team successfully

- Understand leadership styles and behaviours and their subsequent impact on performance

- Know how to apply motivation techniques to get the best from people and invest in their potential

This masterclass will be facilitated through group activities and discussions, drawing upon delegates’ own experiences and applying the concepts to their organisational context.
