More and more women are desiring to develop and improve their leadership skills in areas of business and non-profit organizations. To successfully negotiate the dynamic environment of today, women find they are needing to deal with both old and new issues, requiring a broader range of skills than in the past. While some areas of society are accepting of women as leaders, women still face challenges to their leadership. This professional development course will help women to identify potential stumbling blocks to their leadership and help women develop the expertise and skills leading to successful leadership experiences.

There will be a variety of activities and tools used in the workshop to help the participants understand and learn about being a successful leader. These will include self-assessments, role playing, and mini case studies.

The workshop objectives include but not limited to:

  1. Be able to identify behaviors which hinder and advance your leadership effectiveness by identifying and understanding potential roadblocks on the road to successful leadership.
  2. Develop and understanding of the effective leader characteristics, behaviors, and styles.
  3. Learn to identify effective communication skills and techniques vital to all effective leaders.
  4. Learn the leadership skills essential for handling reoccurring issues.
  5. Learn the importance of Setting Goals.
  6. Learn about the Sacrifices and Consequences of their choices.
