Event description

Description

This course uses the DISS research to support Teaching Assistants to understand how to build independence and resilience in pupils. The sessions and gap tasks encourage them to develop greater skills in assessment, feedback, group working and develops their subject knowledge in English.

The session is for Teaching assistants but we ask that the first session is also attended by a class teacher to support their in school development.

The programme covers:

  • Understanding independence; scaffolding pupils’ ability to learn rather than supporting task completion
  • Classroom talk; asking good questions, getting good answers
  • Assessment and feedback: how can this help to narrow gaps and how do we do it well?
  • Working with bigger groups; phonics subject knowledge
  • SPAG subject knowledge

Dates: March 1st, March 9th, March 21st, April 17th, April 23rd

Cost £125 for five session programme
