Description

Come along for a coffee and a chat.

Help us launch our Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) Involving People Plan and develop the SSSC Involving People Charter.

DVA are delighted to be working with SSSC for this event to launch the SSSC Involving People Plan 2019/20 ‘Learning from Lived Experience, People, Partnerships and Planning for Involvement’ and to help reach and involve people in co-design of the SSSC Involving People Charter.

This session is for people with lived experience of social services and caring (people who use or have used social services and people who are carers).

So far, people with lived experience of social services and caring, organisations and networks have contributed to the development of the Involving People plan. The plan is in recognition of the important contribution that people with lived experience of social services and caring make to SSSC’s work, to coordinate and strengthen the influence of people with lived experience of social services and their carers across a range of SSSC activity, bringing their lived experience to the organisation. The plan outlines the need to create an Involving People Charter. The SSSC Involving People Charter will set out SSSC’s commitment to involvement and reflect aims and aspirations.

What is the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)? We are the regulator for the social service workforce in Scotland. Our work means the people of Scotland can count on social services being provided by a trusted, skilled and confident workforce.

What do we do? We protect the public by registering social service workers, setting standards for their practice, conduct, training and education and by supporting their professional development. Where people fall below the standards of practice and conduct we can investigate and take action.

This SSSC Involving People Plan is a live plan and we are keen to keep the involvement conversation going, to share ideas, learning and approaches to involving people and getting involved. We would really like to hear from you and would also welcome more opportunities to connect, share and support connections to involving people forums and networks so please do get in touch. We also have different e.newsletters for people in different roles so you can sign up for the ones of most interest to you at https://www.sssc.uk.com/newsletter/

You can get in touch by email maxine.dinnes@sssc.uk.com or telephone 07919564747.
