Target audience: KS1 and 2 teachers who are new to using the bar model or who want to gain more confidence in using it.
Course leader: Alison Hogben, Teacher and Primary maths consultant
The bar model is a tool used by children to visualise and represent mathematical structures to solve problems. This session will support teachers in using the principles of both the part/whole and the comparison models. It will also look at strategies for introducing it into the classroom and developing its use across the primary age range.
