Overview

A follow-up workshop for people running new non-profit death work organisations who are navigating visibility, public engagement & care.

If you've already attended our Setting Up Your Own CIC workshop, we invite you to attend this follow-up workshop. It'll be a space to slow down, reflect, and explore how you want your work to be encountered in the world.

This follow-up workshop is for people running new deathwork CICs/non-profits because once your work becomes more visible through public funding, partnerships, referrals or public-facing platforms, questions about branding, audience and engagement often start to feel unavoidable.

For deathwork, those questions can feel especially loaded.

This workshop offers a gentle, practical space to explore public presence as relationship rather than performance, using DEAD GOOD CIC as a live case study for reflection and learning.

Together, we’ll explore how to communicate your death work clearly and ethically, without slipping into extractive or hustle-led approaches.

This session aims to be an antidote to generic and conventional marketing 'masterclasses'. There will be no growth hacks or pressure to 'show up everywhere'.

Instead, we’ll focus on:

  • Making thoughtful choices about visibility and engagement
  • Values-led 'branding' that feels coherent, not performative
  • Understanding the difference between audience, customers and community
  • Talking honestly about money and small business sustainability

This follow-up workshop is designed for solo practitioners and micro teams, and is especially supportive of neurodivergent, chronically ill and caregiving participants who need low-demand ways of being visible as a business.

You don’t need a finished 'brand', website or social media presence to join this session.
You just need to be at the point where your work is starting to meet the public, and you want that contact to be authentic, ethical and sustainably paced.
