About this Event

Programme:

6.30pm Light Refreshments and networking in the Square Lounge

7pm – 8pm Mentoring Speed Dating

8pm – 9pm Expert Panel Discussion and Networking

There are two parts to the evening. In the first part, we invite you to use your experience to inform and influence the careers of new generations of pharmacists by becoming a mentor for a year 4 MPharm student. The speed dating session will enable you to meet the potential mentees and talk to them about your career and what you can offer as a mentor. Following the event, you will be matched with a student to provide some career mentorship. Contact will be through electronic means and will have minimal impact on your time. The benefits to you of becoming a mentor include:

• The opportunity to reflect on your personal training and development

• Developing your leadership skills

• The opportunity to give back to the profession and university

• Having an influential role in supporting future pharmacists development

Please note that taking part in the mentoring speed dating session does not commit you to becoming a mentor. You may decide to opt out of becoming a mentor, following the event.

In the second part of the evening, you will have the opportunity to talk with three highly experienced pharmacist independent prescribers and to use their experience to support you to develop your practice as an independent prescriber. The panel members are:

• Mr James Hammel – Lead Clinical Pharmacist, Trevelyan House Surgery

• Ms Sharon Hart – Lead Partner, GreenLight GP Connect

• Ms Victoria Bray – Clinical Lead Pharmacist, Acute and Emergency Medicine, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the evening the network with your peers and to share your experiences of prescribing.
